July/August 2009 :: Fan of the Month
Hey Everyone!
I’m Shelby; mom, wife, Cowboys fan for life! I have been a fan of the Cowboys for as long as I can remember. I first professed my love for the Cowboys when the Bears released “The Super Bowl Shuffle!” I will never forget that: I took a lot of heat that day!
My enthusiasm for the team comes as no surprise to those that know me. No one was surprised when I painted a 14 foot Cowboys star on the ceiling of my house, when I painted my face for a game or when I discovered my favorite hat! (shown in photo) My favorite part of the house is our “Man Room”: our Cowboys Shrine that will soon take over two rooms in the house.
In 2008, I was honored with the title “CNS Tailgate Queen.” That title caught on and quickly expanded to “Ultimate Fan of the Fans.” This will always be special to me because it started with a group of fans from rival teams and spread like wildfire through the NFL fans online. For a fan, it’s one thing to have the support of your teams fans - it’s something very special to have the support of fans across the league. I hope to always be worthy of those titles and make fellow fans proud! After all, when fans are PROUD they are LOUD!! And that’s the way I like fans: LOUD!! *smile*
I am the Social Media Coordinator for TheDallasCowboyShow.com I am helping to bring fans together with their Cowboys Fanbook! I spend every spare moment keeping fans around the world connected to fellow fans and the team with videos, photos, a calendar of events and much more. For me, sharing my experiences with fans around the world is the best part!
Naming an “all time” favorite is nearly impossible! #22? Capt’n Comeback? MOOOOSE? Mr. Cowboy? This list goes on and on! My favorite current players are: Martellus Bennett, Deon Anderson and Tashard Choice. I look forward to seeing what 2009 has in store for them! Favorite moments & plays include: No Helmet - No Problem, Emmitts record breaking moment, Triplet induction into the Ring of Honor, meeting many legends, the entire Farewell Season…
Last but certainly not least is: time spent with fellow Fans! Whether we are online or in real time, across the table or across the country… I enjoy getting to know and sharing with fellow fans! Your enthusiasm and dedication inspire me to be a better fan!
